WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF AN INTERVIEW?
FROM THE EMPLOYER'S PERSPECTIVE:
- To determine your suitability for the job
- Can you do the job? (skills, education, experience)
- Will you do the job? (desire, motivation, interest)
- Will you fit into the organization? (corporate culture)
- Do I like you? (chemistry)
- Will I be able to manage you? (need for structure or independence)
- Can I afford you? (expected salary range)
FROM THE INTERVIEWEE'S PERSPECTIVE:
- To learn more about the position, company, culture, etc.
- Acquire critical information necessary to make an informed
decision about the potential position. You still need to do
your homework/research on the employer
