"The Career Center staff have helped me by encouraging me to use the services such as the career library, and by taking self-assessment tests to better narrow down my interests and abilities. I've attended numerous workshops that are extremely helpful. Furthermore, I have met one-on-one with a counselor a few times and she provided invaluable websites for me to explore (such as VAULT).
I have used the resume critique service, and it has landed me a few part-time jobs as well as a handful of interviews. My advice to you is to go to the Career Center! Even if you do not have a current need to use it. Just go there, and see what they have to offer. Explore the place, and get comfy with it. I strongly suggest checking out the workshops, and going to the library. Take advantage because it will put you at an advantage. You're paying for these services anyway, so why not?"

 "I knew the career center was there by midway through my freshman year, but never thought I'd have any use for it until I actually started looking for jobs.  However, after visiting the center a few times with a friend I realized there were various services I could benefit from.  I used zotlink to find a college job and an internship with WebVisible which was very valuable ... because I got real world experience at a place I would have otherwise not known about had it not been for the Zotlink service.  Most recently, I met a recruiter from Northwestern Mutual during a Career Fair and landed my current internship as a Financial Representative."

Exploring your Career Options

"I appreciate taking the career assessment test because it has given me a direction in my life. In addition, some of things that the career center can do is tell students of work-study opportunities on campus and to look for professors that need assistance in their labs because I had work-study.  Working in a lab will provide great work experience as well as putting to use the work study money. Another thing is that the Career Center provided me with a packet that helped me with my resume. The packet is very informative. Thank you again."
