Who will be interviewing me?
During an interview you will either be interviewed by the person that you will be working for or an HR professional who does hiring for the entire organization.
What types of questions are asked?
The employer will ask several types of questions to see if you are a good fit for the position. They might include questions about you, your experiences, your behavior, or your knowledge about the company. If you are interviewing for a technical position they might also question your skills. When should I start interviewing?
Some companies will begin interviewing in Fall to hire Spring Graduates.
Where can I practice interviewing?
At the Career Center we provide many opportunities to practice for an interview, you can attend the Interactive Interviewing workshop or scheduling a One on One mock interview with a Peer Consultant (Winter and Spring only) or with a counselor (year round).
Why do companies interview?
Companies interview potential candidates to see if there talents and goals are in line with what the company needs.
How should I dress for an interview?
To be safe wear a suit to the interview. If the company’s culture causes you to question this, come to the career center to discuss if other attire might be appropriate.
